MAP OVERLAYS 1993 Santiago landslide / GHAD 2005 Ramsgate landslide Documented drainage corridor Major evacuation / access road
Identify before the storm: this map highlights documented landslide areas, drainage corridors and major access roads. It deliberately does not label an entire street “dangerous” unless an official source supports that conclusion.

Historic landslide reference points

1993
Santiago Landslide — Serrano Ave. / Avenida de Santiago

Anaheim reports that intense El Niño rains accelerated movement of the roughly 25-acre Santiago Landslide. Evacuations, residential damage and emergency stabilization followed; the area is now managed through the Santiago GHAD dewatering system.

City of Anaheim: Santiago GHAD ↗
2005
Ramsgate Drive Landslide

Anaheim's hazard plan records a slope failure after an extended rain event that destroyed three homes and a private street. The marker on the map is a historic reference point, not a current warning.

Areas that deserve extra attention during prolonged or heavy rain

Serrano Ave. / Avenida de Santiago

City-identified Santiago landslide/GHAD area. Heavy rain and groundwater are central concerns here.

Ramsgate Drive

Site of the documented 2005 slope failure after an extended rain event.

Nohl Ranch Rd. / Serrano Ave.

Documented storm-drain conveyance and catch-basin area; runoff from nearby development is routed here.

Weir Canyon / Santa Ana Canyon / Fairmont

Key east Anaheim access and evacuation corridors. Road conditions matter during emergencies.
